Verizon Fios has an advantage over Spectrum in upload speed, not download speed. Upload speeds on Spectrum are limited to 35 Mbps, whereas Verizon Fios upload speeds can exceed 880 Mbps.

Spectrum is good for regular Internet activities like browsing and viewing videos, but Verizon Fios wins when it comes to online gaming and transferring large files.

Which is more affordable, Verizon Fios or Spectrum?

That depends on the plan you're considering. If you're seeking the cheapest Internet in general, Spectrum Internet, which offers speeds up to 200 Mbps (wireless speeds may vary) for $49.99 per month for a year, is slightly less expensive. Although Verizon's basic pricing is lower than Spectrum's, Verizon's equipment fees are higher.

However, when comparing Verizon Fios' Gigabit plan to Spectrum Internet's Gigabit package, Verizon Fios is less expensive. The Verizon up to 940 Mbps plan costs $79.99 per month, while the Spectrum Internet Gig plan costs $109.99 per month for 12 months and offers speeds up to 1000 Mbps° (wireless speeds may vary).

Verizon Wireless or Spectrum Mobile offers superior coverage

The best coverage is provided by Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless and Spectrum Mobile are technically on the same network (Verizon). However, Verizon prioritizes direct Verizon Wireless customers above Spectrum users, resulting in slower or worse service for Spectrum consumers at times.

Customer service: Verizon vs. Spectrum

In our most recent annual customer satisfaction survey, Verizon consumers ranked their internet service higher than Spectrum subscribers. Verizon came in second place out of a total of 12 ISPs, while Spectrum came in ninth.

Verizon came in second and Spectrum came in third to last in the speed category. However, there isn't much of a difference between customers' self-reported experiences—it just reflects different levels of satisfaction. For example, 89 percent of Verizon customers and 87 percent of Spectrum customers said their internet satisfies their household needs almost regularly or almost always
