Use your Old Phone into a Security Camera, Give your Old Phone new life!

Don't throw your old cellphones, don't sell it for half of the price that you bought them for. You can still use them as a security camera for your home. If you can't pay for a full home security system, read this article.

How To Make Your Old Phone As Home Security?

To begin with, install a security camera app called Alfred in your phones to both your old and new phones. Alfred is a cross-platform app that you can use both Android and iOs. Alfred is a free app to use and gives you remote access to other phones such as motion detections with alerts, remote view of live feeds, two-way feed audio to use of both front and rear cameras.

You will be able to control your security app and monitor your home when you're away using your other phone. 

Once installed, On your new phone where you want to use to Monitor, swipe, or skip the introduction to start. Choose Viewer then choose next and sign in with Google. Alfred requires you a Google account to use it. 

Next is to set up your old phone. The same process with the new phone, but instead of "Viewer", Choose "Camera". Sign in with the same Google account you used on your new phone. 

After you successfully installed on both devices, place your old camera where you want to monitor. Make sure to have both streaming and running. Put it in your main entry point, garage, backyard, or living room. Use a tripod or mount it on your wall to position your camera.
